Frequently Asked Questions
Is a sleeve always cheaper than a box?
Usually, yes, for the same size and finish - a sleeve is open on both ends and uses less board than a box with a full lid and bottom. At 1,000 units our simplest sleeve is around 0.36/unit and a box sleeve around 0.62/unit, versus roughly $0.50-$1.00+ for a comparable folding carton.
When does a full box make more sense than a sleeve?
When the product needs to be fully enclosed for protection, stacking, or shipping without an inner container - a sleeve is designed to wrap around something (a tray, jar, or folded item), not replace a box entirely.
Can a sleeve be used for shipping?
Not usually on its own. Most of our sleeve styles are meant for retail presentation and are shipped inside an outer shipping carton, similar to how the old site's spec table notes each style is 'not suitable as a shipping box.'
