About box sleeves
The open ends keep assembly to a single sliding motion, and the four-sided wrap gives more printable surface area than a belly band for detailed artwork.
A box sleeve is an outer cardboard sleeve, open at both ends, that slides over a box, tray or product. It covers the four long sides, so all the branding sits on the sleeve and the inner box can stay plain. That means one inner box in stock can carry different designs, seasons or flavors just by changing the sleeve.
It's the most flexible style and a good place to start if you're not sure what you need. The sleeve should be slightly larger than the item so it slides on and off easily, and the artwork wraps around all four sides, which gives you a large printed surface. Sleeves can ship flat to save space, or arrive assembled and ready to use.

How to measure for box sleeves
- Measure the inner tray or box you're sleeving, not the product alone.
- Add about 1/8 inch of clearance on length and width so the sleeve slides on and off without tearing.

Frequently asked questions
What is a box sleeve?
A box sleeve is an outer cardboard sleeve that slides over a box, tray or product on four sides. It carries your branding and information while the inner box stays plain, which keeps packaging cost down and lets you reuse one box with different sleeves.
Can I get box sleeves in a custom size?
Yes, every sleeve is made to the exact size you give us. There are no stock sizes. Enter your product's length, width and height in the calculator and add a little clearance so it slides on smoothly.
What is the difference between a sleeve and a box?
A box holds and protects the product. A sleeve is open at both ends and goes around an existing box or product to brand it. A sleeve is usually cheaper, lighter and quicker to produce, and you can change the design without redoing the box.
Do box sleeves arrive flat or already assembled?
Your choice. They can be supplied flat, which ships and stores compactly, or taped and assembled, ready to slide on. There is also a peel-and-seal adhesive strip option. Pick it in the options on this page.
What's the minimum order quantity for box sleeves?
The minimum order is 100 units. Pricing improves at higher quantities, with per-unit cost dropping substantially by 1,000 and 5,000 units.
How much do custom box sleeves cost?
Around $1.50 per unit at 100 units, dropping to around $0.36 at 5,000 units, for a single-color print on standard board before any finishes. Use the price calculator on this page for an estimate matched to your size, material, and finish.
What are box sleeves typically used for?
Common uses include Cosmetics and skincare, Supplement bottles, Electronics accessories. If your product doesn't fit one of these categories, our team can still recommend the right style for it.
Do you provide design or dieline support?
Yes - dieline templates and basic design support are included free with your order. You don't need finished artwork to request a quote.
